This year is off to a good start. Please encourage your child to read daily. They are supposed to read a minimum of 20 minutes per day.
Please look for homework assignments and spelling words in the student planners.
3rd grade is working on multiplication. Please work on this each night. It is imperative that they know their facts before we begin division and other things that will soon be taking place. They should currently be learning 0-5's.
Please be aware that Wednesday nights and Friday nights are "free nights". Your child should not have "written" homework on these days unless they did not finish work in class.
Your child may tell you some interesting stories about science class. We began our plant unit and we are eagerly awaiting the growth of our plants.
We also started a daily math program called "Every Day Counts." This is a great way to start off your child's day reviewing key math concepts that will help them in class and with life skills.
Please encourage your child to read and test on A.R. books. Mrs. Hubbard periodically checks student points. Our latest findings are that "some" third graders have less points that "some" 1st graders. "Let's go third grade!"
